The Jamaica Food and Drink Festival (JFDF) proudly took center stage at Bliss, one of the most anticipated events of Barbados’ Crop Over celebrations. As JFDF celebrates its 10th year, this move brought a bursting taste of Jamaica to Barbados, showcasing our renowned culinary style and flair.

This exciting activation was made possible through collaboration with key partners. InterCaribbean Airways, now offering direct flights from Barbados to Kingston, played a crucial role in bringing this fusion of Caribbean cultures to life. The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has been instrumental in highlighting festival tourism and presenting the diversity of the island’s offerings. VISA, the Festival’s Presenting Partner, alongside CIBC, promoted their platinum VISA card offerings, driving inbound travel from the region.

Bliss, the epitome of all-inclusive experiences in Barbados took place on August 3, 2024. Over 4,000 patrons descended upon the Haymans Estate dressed in fine style. Several flocked to the Jamaica Food & Drink Festival booth, as there was much buzz about the booth’s offering.

Showcasing the flavours and spirit of Jamaica, reimagined beyond sun, sand, sea, and jerk, Bliss patrons enjoyed an exclusive menu of Appleton-infused Jam-Asian chicken, specially prepared by Chef Simon Levy of ROAST Specialty Meats. The dish was a celebration of the rich flavours of Jamaica, and the influence of Chinese cuisine. With the touch of our epic signature rums from Jamaica, JFDF curated a true taste embodiment of our island’s vast culinary culture.

“As Barbados celebrates its 50th anniversary of Crop Over, we were happy to take the Jamaica Food and Drink Festival experience on the road to share the culinary vibrancy of Jamaica with our fellow Caribbean neighbours and their visitors. I had the opportunity to speak to visitors from Toronto, Nigeria, Guyana, the UK and from all over the US. We are certainly proud to showcase the Festival and know this year’s 10th staging will be something you simply can’t miss!” said Alicia Bogues, Festival Director.

The Jamaica Food & Drink Festival is an annual culinary Festival that takes place in Kingston, Jamaica in November. A two-time recipient of the World Culinary Food Awards, “Caribbean’s Best Culinary Festival”, JFDF is honoured to be again nominated for this prestigious award in 2024.

We encourage everyone to join us on November 6-10, 2024, at the Jamaica Food and Drink Festival.

Experience the best of Jamaican food and drink as we celebrate the continued push of the Caribbean’s cuisine and festival tourism beyond the borders of Jamaica.
