GenXS Carnival, a true trendsetter in the world of carnival with its innovative concepts and designs, is set to ignite the 2024 carnival road march season with an electrifying theme: “Unleash the Dragon.” This innovative revelation kicks off with an exclusive first look at a stunning costume, designed to embody the very essence of this mythical theme.
GenXS Carnival Reveals “Unleash the Dragon” Theme with Spectacular Sneak Peak
Renowned Trinidadian designer, Shawn Dhanraj, is the creative genius behind this exquisite creation, aptly named “Wendamyr.” Drawing inspiration from attributes associated with these mythical creatures. Dhanraj explains that his deep appreciation for dragons and other fantastical creatures allowed him to seize the opportunity to create a piece that authentically embodied the theme to transport revellers to a different realm.
Bringing this visionary costume to life was no small feat and was masterfully executed by accomplished carnival photographer Jeffrey Charles in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Model, dancer, carnival influencer, and GenXS Jamaica Ambassador Achsah Henry, wore “Wendamyr” with undeniable grace.
At the core of GenXS Carnival’s identity lies a dedication to telling stories through their exceptional costume designs. For the last staging of Carnival in Jamaica, they paid homage to Jamaica’s iconic landmarks with their theme “Return to Paradise,” leaving an indelible mark on carnival enthusiasts locally and internationally. Kibwe McGann, GenXS Director, shared his excitement,

GenXS Carnival now opens the door to the enthralling Carnival in Jamaica season with “Unleash the Dragon,” and will unveil more breath-taking costumes during its Launch on November 18 at the Ruins, UWI Visitor’s Lodge.
