The Queens OF Reggae Island Honorary Ceremony slated for Sunday, October 23 at the Courtleigh Auditorium in Kingston Jamaica has regrettably announced that the event will be postponed.
QORIHC ANNOUNCES POSTPONEMENT OF THIS YEAR’S EVENT
The event, now in its 6th staging, was set to honor fourteen women who have contributed to the development of the Jamaican music industry in one form or another and has been a source of inspiration to hard-working females globally.
While not divulging the reason in detail behind the decision to postpone the event until the first Quarter of 2023, organizer Laurell Nurse of Nyte Nurse Production did share a need for more external media and corporate support for the well-intentioned event concept.
“These women deserve to be honored properly and if it cannot be how it should be for the ladies then it cannot happen. More sponsorship and promotion is definitely necessary, so we will be taking a few additional months to get these aspects addressed,” Laurell Nurse shared
Although the new date is not yet set, the QORIHC team is looking at March or April 2023 dates for the restaging and will keep this year’s list of honorees.
