Aging Gracefully is Fashionable | Kiehl’s Fast Release Retinol Serum
I’ve tried a lot of Kiehl’s products in the past few months and I must say this is definitely the most interesting. The overall use of this product is to diminish fine lines and wrinkles by way of fast-acting retinol. The thing that makes it interesting is that you have to set up the product to “activate” the Retinol in a 4-step system.
How to Activate Fast Release Retinol Night Serum
Step 1: TWIST
Replace the bottom cap with the retinol capsule. The Retinol comes in a separate packaging that you have to literally add to the product.
Step 2: PRESS
Push down on the capsule to release retinol.
Step 3: SHAKE
Shake vigorously to fully mix & activate the formula.
Step 4: SWITCH
Replace the capsule with the original bottom cap.
Pros
The product is clear, but once I added the retinol, It took on a creamy yellowish colour to show that it was ready to be used. My problem areas are my under eyes as I have “under eye bags” and also really fine lines when I laugh too hard. As the name suggests, the product is fast-acting. Though it’s only been a little over 3 weeks, I’ve started to see results.
The results are because of consistent use as per product recommendations and also pairing it with other Kieh’ls products and my Lifestyle. It is important to also consider things like Diet and Exercise when using new products as this can make all the difference. Never try to compare your skin journey or the success of a product with others as the product alone might not give you the desired results.
Cons
The only thing I didn’t like about this product is that it features a glass tip with makes it hard to apply. I have to shake a few times and hope it comes out for which it usually splatters on the mirror and everywhere. I understand why the brand might have used glass versus plastic for the product, but I think a different tip or maybe a pump could be added so it’s easier to get the product from the bottle.
The fact that it is in a bottle means I have to be extremely careful where I store and handle it if I’m not careful, it could easily break. The consistency also changes in the bottle even after I’ve shaken it a few times so it’s important to keep that in mind.
