Sex and the City fans can now stay in Carrie Bradshaw’s New York City brownstone

There are some television series whose impact on culture is so monolithic that we find ourselves enamoured not only with character, but setting. Monica’s apartment in Friends, and the group’s couch at Central Perk, Jerry’s home on 81st Street in Seinfeld—such are interiors so recognisable they’ve become as synonymous with their shows as the people who populate them. Carrie Bradshaw’s New York City brownstone in Sex and the City, with its magazine stacks and pistachio walls, falls into this vein. What if, then, as the world awaits the arrival of SATC reboot And Just Like That…, we were to tell you that you could stay in Carrie’s apartment, closet and all?

On November 8 (November 9 in Australia), Airbnb will be welcoming requests for a one-night stay in a replica of the famous brownstone, in celebration both of the 23 years that have passed since SATC’s debut, and its upcoming revival on HBO. For a rate of $30 per night, two lucky guests will get to experience their best Carrie Bradshaw life, virtually hosted by none other than Sarah Jessica Parker herself. “The Carrie Bradshaw character is near and dear to my heart, and revisiting her world for the continuation of the Sex and the City story has been such a joy,” says Parker of the initiative. “I’m excited for our audience to experience Carrie’s New York like never before and walk in her shoes, quite literally, for the first time.”

And walk in Carrie’s shoes you will, because the stay comes not only with the Manhattan surroundings, but all the SATC activities a fan could want—cosmopolitans and a brunch in Chelsea with friends, as well as a chance to participate in a styling session and photoshoot. Guests are free also to wear anything in Carrie’s wardrobe, which includes her formidable collection of Manolo Blahniks and, of course, her Patricia Field tutu.

Below, look inside Carrie Bradshaw’s reimagined apartment—for some, it might be all the convincing you need to book a flight to New York.
