MIYAKE DESIGN STUDIO was created by Issey Miyake in 1970. In the next year, ISSEY MIYAKE INC. was founded as a subsidiary to plan and manufacture clothes and related products for domestic and international sales.
ISSEY MIYAKE has regularly participated in Paris Fashion Week since 1973. The design concept challenges the conventional idea of garment making and strives to highlight the relationship between body and cloth.

The Spring Summer 2022 Collection takes a few cues from “Swimming” and sees one of the models on a mini runway that mimics a diving board while being outfitted in a chic “swim cap” inspired headwear .
The look was made complete with a black and white dystopian type dress with circles that seem to converge into each other. This collection is definitely of the future and fits into the Asian Dystopian theme that is prevalent on Netflix and other steaming sites. Another signature Issey Miyake style that came out in this this Collection is Geometry meets Aquatic and hints of nature which where popular themes in his 2021 Fall/Winter Collection and his 2019 show with the popular “Floating Dresses”.
