After making his announcement to renounce his “Royal Duties”, Prince Harry finally makes his American debut on the James Corden Show.
The episode premiered on Thursday, February 25, 2021, on YouTube, where we see James doing his usual “Carpool Karaoke” style sketch this time with a “special friend” who was to give him a tour of a section of L.A. The camera pans over and we see a dressed-down Prince Harry in Jeans and a Polo Shirt waiting to board a double-decker bus.
James begins asking questions and adding bits of humour throughout and we learn this was Harry’s first time on a bus doing a tour as when he was doing his “Royal duties”, sightseeing was not allowed. The conversation goes on and we learn that while the Queen and Prince know how to Zoom, Prince Phillip simply closes his Laptop shut rather than ending the Zoom Chat. James begins showing him houses after doing a bad job of serving him Tea on a bus from silverware nonetheless where we get a sense of harry’s candid humor. Harry states that if he could choose who would play in a movie, he would want it to be Damian Lewis and James offers himself as wanting to be cast as “Prince William”.

They make a stop at the “Fresh Prince House” that now has a new owner where James asks the owner how much she would sell the house to Harry for and she happily replies “depends on how much he’s offering”, Harry then takes a quick detour to the Loo (bathroom) where James calls Meghan Markle.
Meghan looks amazing on the call with her effortless beachy waves and fresh face and bright smile! The pair looks lovely, relaxed, and refreshed and most of all through it all, they seem more relatable and just like anyone who has been through a lot of stuff. Harry even speaks about the portrayal of his family on “The Crown” as though it’s based on things that might have happened in a specific period of time — It’s still fiction compared to stories in the paper and the news as people sells things as “true” just because they can.
In true James Corden Fashion, there was a challenge at the end which was Army training related where Harry dominated. I was actually surprised at how fit and agile the Prince was, as though I knew he has front-line Army training, I didn’t expect him to actually know how to do stuff. James was, of course, struggling to say the least and we saw Harry’s true caring and loveable personality come out, where he offered to help him by taking him through the course, literally!
This was a great interview and did not feel strained and it was really nice to see Harry just being himself and living like the rest of us.
