The public outpouring of support for Black designers, artists, and brands this past year propelled many previously unknown faces into the spotlight – Kimberly Goldson among them. But she wants you to know she has always been here
Goldson has been a force to be reckoned with since launching her collection in 2012 after starring in season 9 of Project Runway – and the new collection is further proof that she is here to stay. Her Pre-Fall is based upon the idea of hiding in plain sight, featuring bold prints that conceal her logo ‘Gold’ within them. Silhouettes range from crop tops to floor-length dresses, all cut in luxurious fabrics that help elevate the everyday.
In the midst of the turmoil, a movement was born. A rallying cry went out to “support black designers”! From the shadows emerged a wealth of artists and brands, begging the question “where has all of this talent been”? The answer? We’ve been here all along. Based upon the idea of hiding in plain sight, the Kimberly Goldson Pre-Fall 2021 collection features bold prints concealing the logo “Gold” within. Can you spot it?

We here at Haute People have been doing our due diligence to bring you the collections of our Black Designers as though amazingly, talented! This pool of designers is often overlooked! COVID-19 saw the rise and rebirth of the black designer and we are all the way here for it.
