Fashion Season is in full swing which kicks off with New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

This season, however, things are a little different just in case you might not have noticed. Due to COVID-19 as cases continue to rise over major cities all over the world, most brands have opted for a Digital/Virtual showing of their collections while there are some brands that still opted for physical shows. One of those Brands is Jason Wu who last evening presented his Spring/Summer 2021 Ready-to-Wear Collection to an audience of 36 guests down from his usual over 800 guests. According to WU, guests went through rigorous COVID-19 sanitization protocol which saw each guest being tested, temperature checked, sanitized, and sat 6 feet apart from each other.

If you love all things Fashion like us here at Haute People, you are probably excited to see this collection as well as others from New York Fashion Week. Today, we will be looking at the Jason Wu Spring/Summer 2021 Collection that was streamed via E!’s YouTube Channel.

The theme of the Collection was “a holiday in Tulum” which happens to be a place he dubs as his “home away from home” and this happens to be his first contemporary collection.  As the camera panned to the runway, we immediately noticed the backdrop that featured beautifully decked palm trees on both sides of the runway with white beach sand!

The decor was reminiscent of a tropical paradise that came to life with over 1000 palm trees and 1500 lbs of white beach sand that were brought in to create the illusion that you were actually in Tulum. If you are gonna do “Tropical Paradise”, you have to do it right with Palm Trees and all. It’s just the Jason Wu Way!

This collection can easily be thought of as his Imaginative escape as it featured bright, beautiful flowy pieces that one would wear boldly on an exotic, luxurious escape! The backdrop featured beautifully decked

The lights suddenly flickered and sounds of airy upbeat music could be heard in the background which indicated the start of the show! The collection can easily be thought of as an Imaginative escape as it featured bright, beautiful flowy pieces that one would wear boldly on an exotic, luxurious escape! If you are into pop culture, you might have spotted Pose star Indya Moore who appeared in a rust-colored maxi dress with pockets (we love a dress with pockets) and bold Anglaise detailing just above the hem. Also gracing the runway were Hanne Gaby Odiele, Indira Scott, and Grace Elizabeth who were seen wearing the designs with much ease and comfort. There were hues of purples, pops of pink, a breathtaking chartreuse piece, and an updated nautical vibe with horizontal stripe!  This was more of a comfortable yet chic vibe in comparison to Jason’s usual Avante Garde showcase but he ensured all the pieces were “wearable”.

After 7-10 minutes I want people to forget about the trouble we are currently facing and escape to a tropical paradise.

It was a collection that was comfortable yet fun and luxurious and have pieces that everyone would wear on their luxurious getaway from the mundane!
