8 Questions To Ask Before Booking A Wedding Venue

Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr

Many
people make the mistake of assuming that finding the prettiest venue is all
about finding the perfect location for their dream wedding. Unfortunately, you
need to ask a lot of questions before you go ahead and sign on the dotted line
If you are not sure what questions to ask, worry not! Here are a few to help
you get started:

Is it
available on
your target date?

Popular
wedding venues are often booked months in advance. If you have a specific
target
wedding date in mind, you will need to check
whether the venue you prefer is available that particular day or not. If your
wedding date is not flexible, this might be a problem.

medianet_height = “90”;
medianet_crid = “185308422”;
medianet_versionId = “111299”;
(function() {
var isSSL = ‘https:’ == document.location.protocol;
var mnSrc = (isSSL ? ‘https:’ : ‘http:’) + ‘//contextual.media.net/nmedianet.js?cid=8CU3G4D0M’ + (isSSL ? ‘&https=1’ : ”);
document.write(”);
})();

How
much does it cost?

Most
wedding venues offer a price quote. Remember to ask what all are included and
excluded in this before you go ahead and sign the contract.

How
many guests can it accommodate?

The capacity of the wedding venue will decide the number of guests you can invite
to your wedding. If you have a large guest list, you will need to find a venue
that can accommodate
everyone.

medianet_width = “728”;
medianet_height = “90”;
medianet_crid = “185308422”;
medianet_versionId = “111299”;
(function() {
var isSSL = ‘https:’ == document.location.protocol;
var mnSrc = (isSSL ? ‘https:’ : ‘http:’) + ‘//contextual.media.net/nmedianet.js?cid=8CU3G4D0M’ + (isSSL ? ‘&https=1’ : ”);
document.write(”);
})();

How
much decoration do you need to make it look wedding-ready?

You need to check the decoration details because it makes
a whole lot of difference to the venue.  While some wedding venues like
Shreveport weddings have décor suitable for a
wedding, other places will need a ton of additional décor to make it wedding
friendly. This can be a time consuming and expensive affair.

Do
you like the venue space?

Can
you picture yourself getting married at the venue? If you are planning a rustic
themed wedding, an elegant hotel might not be the answer.

Do
they offer catering services?

One
of the most important questions to ask a wedding venue is whether the catering
is in-house or not. While in-house catering is more convenient, remember to try
the food before making a decision.

Is it
a convenient location?

While
the wedding venue might look like it came right out of a fairy-tale, it might
work so well if half of your guests get lost or find it difficult to make it to
the venue. If you are
planning on getting married in your
hometown, the
location will not be too much of an issue. However, older
grandparents might find it difficult to make it a destination wedding.

Who
is the coordinator?

You
need to be able to speak directly with the coordinator of the wedding so that
it is easier to move forward. Since there will be a lot of key details to
discuss and decide before the wedding, you need to have a good rapport with the
coordinator.
If
the wedding venue has an outdoor setting that you plan to use to remember to
inquire about plan B in case of rain. Check if they offer you the use of an
indoor space in case of unexpected rainfall. If they reply “it never rains
here” you are better off choosing another venue.  With most wedding venues
not offering an option to refund your deposit, it is in your best interest to
think long and hard and ask all the right questions before finalizing the
venue.
