What Do I Actually Do For A Living?

I get a lot of questions about my life and I give no answers but thought I would clear that up today .. kinda. I live in an Island Paradise in Jamaica in the capital city of Kingston where people are to say the least …curious.

If you’ve seen me out multiple times in the week — you are sure to see me in a different role and this can be quite confusing to some as you are probably wondering “what the hell does she do”? I remember seeing an acquaintance onset of a commercial early in the morning, then seeing that same person in the evening all glammed up at launch and they were so confused.

Here’s my truth — I work in the Creative Industries (with an “s”) therefore I have multiple roles. My day job is at an Advertising Agency which involves a wide range of things. How “Agency” life works is you do whatever the client wants to keep them happy and to keep them on the books so you get paid, sis.

I guess you could say my official title is “Media Planner” but because I have multiple skills I do multiple roles. If the client needs Social Media Coverage of an activation they are involved in .. I’m there! If they want a script for a commercial or jingle .. I write it! If they are shooting a commercial .. I pick the wardrobe, etc and I’m on set. Get it? No two days are ever the same. Apart from my day job I also have this Blog which enables me to also cover events and do other cool “Blogger Things” where I’m usually more glammed and in “Pretty Clothes” versus my Day look which is T-shirt and Jeans or a Brand Shirt. Other than that, I also freelance — this includes Social Media and Copywriting services so you might also see me at more serious events in the role. In this role, I get to pick the people I wan to work with so I tend to stay away from the difficult clients, unlike my day job where I get whoever the company pairs me with.

I enjoy being a creative person and I try to get as much experience and work in as many areas as I possibly can because I have many interests. I also want to get the most out of life as I possibly can and as much as my strength will allow as life is short! It’s that simple!

Hopefully, this sheds some light on what I actually do for all the curious and confused people. If you see me several places on the same day in different days and different outfits, just say “hi” .. sis is working .. I am sis .. sis is me!
