Comes August 1, 2019, all roads will lead to the 2nd city of Montego Bay at Catherine Hall Entertainment Center for the 10th staging of the Montego Bay Jerk Festival 2019!

At the launch recently held in Kingston at the Liguanea Golf Club John Lindo, promoter of the Mobay Jerk and Food Festival expressed his gratitude and gave an emotional recount of his journey of staging the event for the past 9 years:

“If God blesses me I will bless the people of Montego Bay and give back in a major way, I encourage you all to come out with the entire family and prepare for a good time with good food. The “Jerk” element is always a favourite as Jamaica is known for Jerk Foods and it just made sense — I would like to thank the new sponsors who came on board as it has not been an easy road but we are here.

At the event were some of Jamaica’s noted Media Personalities including Shelly-Ann Weeks dubbed as “the period lady” and local Comedian Ian “Ity” Ellis, who will be one of the acts at the Festival. The guests in attendance got a preview of the acts slated for the event and saw an entertaining performance from viral, breakout artiste “Beez Hive” and had the audience buzzing along with his popular single and a heartfelt performance from Gospel Artiste, Jabez.

The Keynote address was given by Dr. Carey Wallace Executive Director of the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) who spoke about the importance of building Jamaica’s gastronomic tourism with the staging of events like the Mobay Jerk Festival. He revealed that based on a study, most visitors who come to the Island come to experience our culinary offerings as Jamaica is described as a “melting pot” of cultures and people want to experience that by way of food.

The Montego Bay Jerk Festival has been a calendar event for the last nine years in Montego Bay. During this time the promoters have seen major growth in the event and as such have sought to expand the offering of the festival. Now called the MoBay Jerk and Food Festival; the event will take patrons on an epicurean journey, which demonstrates creativity and innovation in food and music.
This staging will include the following acts: Jah Cure, Shane E, Jada Kingdom, Beez Hive, Jabez, Joan Flemmings, Ity & Fancy Cat and more.
