Spring Into Fashion 2018 | A Celebration of Jamaican Fashion
It is 8 years later and Spring Into Fashion is still thriving!
The event organized by The Canadian Women’s Club of Jamaica (CWC) and coordinated by Acting President Joan McDonald (Miss Jamaica World 1978) continues to initiate and expand on current issues within society! This year’s event was hosted at the residence of Canada’s High Commissioner to Jamaica, Her Excellency Laurie Peters last Sunday and the Haute Lifestyle was in attendance!
The event has grown in size, reach and of course grandeur with some of Jamaica’s most acclaimed designers hand-picked by the ladies of the CWC club. Designers this year included: Ayanna Dixon, Courtney Washington, Heather Laine, Keneea Linton-George, The Mushroom, Mutamba Fashions, Neahlis, Earl’s Fashion Tailoring and Canadian Fashions by Frank Lyman sold exclusively at Signatures Boutique with accessories by Purple Jade and Hats by Cinderella’s Hats.
For this year the major focus is on the St. John Ambulance Youth Brigade to expand their Cadet programme in schools across Jamaica as they hope to impact two thousand enrolled students, teachers and community leaders through exposure to areas such as First Aid, Safety and Accident Prevention, Civic responsibilities, Ceremonials and Skills Development. It was a great event with a great turn-out and great support from patrons who attended. The event ended with an opportunity to shop the collections of the Designers who participated in the show.
