The Virtual showings of New York Fashion Week (NYFW) might be over but this is where the trends begin!
Every year Fashion Editors, Bloggers, and other Fashion Enthusiasts compile a list of their favorite looks from designers that somehow become the trends for the next season. These are the items they will wear in their daily lives and of course post pics on the gram!
We here at Haute People, have noticed a few of those trends and have decided to put together our very own list! Look out for these trends on the gram!
Below are 5 Trends from the Runways of #NYFW! We hope you enjoy this article and will be bold enough to try some of these.
5 Trends from the Runways of #NYFW
Glam Pajamas
I don’t know about anybody else, but I love a good pajama! I was so glad when brands like Intermix turned this extremely comfortable night-time set into something glamorous and fashionable! We saw Glam Pajamas on the Runways of Rodarte, Tom Ford, and Snow Xue Gao and the way this was styled was something magical!
Pajamas as clothing is not a new phenomenon is not anything new, but this could not have come at a better time since we are pretty much always home and or working from home.
Silky + Satin separates with a variety of feathers and even onesie inspired pieces were quite popular on the runways this season.
Burnt Orange
This was one of the colors that stood out the most on the runways. There is something almost transcendent about this specific shade of Orange that brings out the melanin in darker skin tones– It’s beautiful and it pops!
This color was a stand-out on runways like Jason Wu and Thakoon. It can be worn all year round as it’s dark enough to be worn in colder months but light enough to be transitioned into Spring and Summer. Plus, it’s just a beautiful color — It’s like the “Candy Yum Yum” of colors for black people.
Cut-Outs
A little subtle cut-out never hurt anybody especially when it’s tastefully done!
This is a carryover trend from Fall 2020, designers are still into revealing bits of bare skin in unexpected places — whether it’s down the leg of a pair of tight pants (Simon Miller) or on the sleeve of a shiny dress (Raisavanessa). We’ve even seen this trend in more affordable brands like ASOS where Influencers are flocking these pieces so they can have them in their collection.
I too will be picking up a few pieces before they are all sold out. I love a tastefully done cut-out, it’s chic yet feminine at the same time.
Florals
When you think about it, Florals never really go out of style, do they? Nope! Definitely not for this season
Florals that got a very English-countryside-cottage-decor update this season. From dainty daisies that look stripped off our grandma’s sofa to groovy stems in saturated hues plucked from ’70s furniture, designers brought floral whimsy to our house dresses. If you are not into Designer digs you can purchase this trend from stores like H&M, ASOS, and Zara.
Bright Colours
Designers took inspiration from the electrifying shades of pink, green, yellow, and orange that can be found in office supply closets across the country. There were Bic-style highlighter hues rendered in everything from billowy dresses to couch-friendly sweatsuits.
This trend was seen on the runways of Tom Ford and Christiano Siriano just to name a few! In these dark and challenging times, these brights hues bring light and life to the world and your closet.
These are the 5 Trends from the Runways of NYFW that have made our list this year!
