The Style Week JA 2018 finale event took us back to Downtown Kingston but this time on the Rooftop of the Digicel building. This space was discovered last year by the team and they decided to use it again because of the location and the beautiful design of the building which made it the perfect backdrop for photos and the runway in the middle of the space.
The elevator took us on top of the world on the 10th floor of the building where we were escorted in true VIP fashion by Saint International Models. The musical stylings of the night were done by Sankofa whose mix of techno, pop, and high energy beats really took the event to a whole other level!
On this night, we saw three (3) Designers presenting their Spring /Summer 2019 Collections starting with our very own Courtney Washington whose pieces were a mix of Resort, Tropical and Evening Wear and a signature high neck lime green dress with a beautifully ruffled mini-train. The next Designer was Rick Bailey who this time showcased his womenswear collection with a beautiful gold female pantsuit worn by model Tiffany Johnson – his collection featured clean lines and structured pieces with pops of colors and prints and patterns mixed in for dramatic flair.
The final collection of the night was by Jamaican born Designer Kirk Pickersgill and his Canadian based designs from his Greta Constantine label. Kirk wanted to take his designs home and debut the collection with never before seen pieces that were bright, bold and beautiful and included his signature sequence – one could never have too much sequence as it makes any outfit 100% better.
This was the perfect way to end a fantastic week of Fashion Innovation and fun and we are already exciting for the 2019 staging and what the organizers and designers will do next.

We have a small favor to ask. People are reading the Haute Lifestyle than ever since our recent placement in the South Florida Blogger Awards but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. We do not have investors and everything Blog related is funded out of pocket– we want to keep our journalism as fun and open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Our article takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective and voices matter – because it might well be your perspective, too.
If everyone who reads our posts, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure.
