7 Stylish Grown-Up Birthday Party Ideas

People usually get an impression that birthday parties are for kids, who enjoy being at the center of attention and finally being one year older! But even those of us who aren’t too thrilled about our ages getting higher and higher can enjoy a celebration with those near and dear. Here are some ideas for a grown-up party that can blow your friends’ mind!

Beach Party
While it would be ideal to actually organize this party at a beach, you can recreate some beach vibes in your own apartment – or a backyard. In the case of a backyard, you could designate a corner to cover with a bag of sand. If this is too much, you can still arrange for a small bonfire, good music, and beachy drinks and food (mojito! donuts! corn on the cob!) and have an amazing summery party everyone would enjoy.

Wine and Cheese Tasting
Now, this could be a fancy evening that you know is reserved for grown-ups so no one can say your birthday party is immature just because you’re organizing one! And honestly, this is actually pretty easy to organize. You just need to get a lot of cheeses, some cutting boards to arrange the cheeses nicely, and some wine bottles. Bonus points for some charcuterie, and extra points if some of your friends is a sommelier or a wine or cheese connoisseur!

Cocktail Party
Your guests will probably love the opportunity to drink cocktails to their heart desire! An even better idea is to hire a mixologist who will not only make cocktails but craft custom drinks for your guests all night long based on their favorite ingredients. Maybe some of your friends were always unhappy to not find a combination they would adore – why not help out? A fun way to serve drinks is to organize a kombi van hire – this unusual setting will sweep your guests off their feet.

Masked Party
Maybe some say they’re not big on this kind of dressing up, but we believe everybody can have fun making their masks, and even more fun mingling around and talking to Supermen, Peter Pans, chimney sweeps, princesses and other creative people! This is the ultimate opportunity to lose all inhibitions and look the way you never would in public. What’s not to love?

Poker Party
Another grown-up party idea to celebrate the birthday of a grown-up! If your friends are big on poker, this is a fun way to turn a regular poker night into something cooler. On the other hand, if they’re not, this is a perfect opportunity to teach them how to play without them opting out because they “don’t feel like it today”! So, arrange for ample of poker chips and proper tables and cards. In addition, don’t forget to serve nibbles and drinks right at the table, because it’s likely the guests won’t get up from the middle of a poker game to have something to eat or drink. Another thing worth mentioning: this will probably last very long, so don’t organize it on a Sunday or a weekday!

Karaoke Party
If you’ve ever sung karaoke, you know just how much fun it can get – especially after one drink too many. If you’re afraid of singing in front of a group, or know that some of your friends do – this is a perfect opportunity to get everyone hooked, as it’s a closed group of people near and dear to you. Arrange for a good karaoke system, and that’s basically all you have to do (apart from getting food and drinks). The fun is then there to be had, with bad singing and great singing alike!

Board Game Party
For a quiet night in, you can organize a board game party. Of course, be prepared the quiet night to get heated if some of your friends just can’t stand losing, especially when the tables turn! Again, all you have to do is arrange for food and drinks and enough board games to get the rounds going for several hours.
As you can see, a birthday can be celebrated in a number of ways – choose what suits best to you and your group of friends, and enjoy!
