Jamaican-born Designer Glenroy March took his Fall 2019/2020 collection he presented at New York Fashion Week in a direction that was true to his roots –Africa!

Sankofa by D’Marsh garnered its inspiration from the Designers’ recent trip to Africa that somehow reminded him of his home in Jamaica where he was born and raised.

Having traveled to the motherland twice in the past year, this provided a unique opportunity to explore my roots” -Glenroy Marsh.

The collection combined bold colors, rich textures, and flattering silhouettes in a way that exude black excellence as each piece seemed to float down the runway. Subtle African references were seen in the headwraps and prints that injected a charming feel into the clothes that would be perfect for a chic globetrotter exploring the world and different cultures.

Structured blazers and well-tailored pants + beautifully stitched dresses that hugged the female curves were what made up the collection. The stand-out piece of the collection was a dramatic full white dress that added to the stellar presentation was savvily paired with a structured blazer with gold hardware to show the juxtaposition between sweet and edgy.

Armed with impeccable style and grace with a very distinctive look, D’Marsh delivered yet another solid collection that brought an intriguing multi-cultural vibe to New York Fashion Week.
