Fall /Winter 2019 BIGGEST Trends from NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr

The greatest thing about Fashion Week is that it comes at the beginning of the year when our wardrobes need an update! Fall is the perfect time to seek inspiration for pieces that we deem as “must have” as it gives an idea of how to style pieces for the next season.

At the recent NYFW Fall/Winter 2019 presentations, we saw pieces that truly stood out and gave us a sense of what is popping this season.

Keep reading to see the most popular trends at New York Fashion Week.

Slouching Shoulder

medianet_width = “728”;
medianet_height = “90”;
medianet_crid = “185308422”;
medianet_versionId = “111299”;
(function() {
var isSSL = ‘https:’ == document.location.protocol;
var mnSrc = (isSSL ? ‘https:’ : ‘http:’) + ‘//contextual.media.net/nmedianet.js?cid=8CU3G4D0M’ + (isSSL ? ‘&https=1’ : ”);
document.write(”);
})();
The 90 never seems to really go away as it was truly the best time! We saw an updated remake of the “one shoulder” trend but in a cool-girl, effortless and of course chic way. This was seen at the Ghada Al Buainain x Harlienz show for their modest take on beautifully tailored pieces.

The De-constructed Suit

Just like the 90s suits aren’t going anywhere any time soon! This season is all about pulling the signature “power suit” apart and making it into something cool and edgy that can be used to create a variety of looks. We saw this trend at the ACID NYC Fashion Show.

Brown Leather

Red Leather, Yellow Leather — Brown Leather?! Yes, please! Brown leather takes a modern spin on the traditional black leather that gives a hardcore look. Brown leather adds a softer look and borders into the Western style which is also currently popular. We saw this trend quite alot between shows and on the street.

Purple Rain Purple

That’s not the actual name of the purple but it has that hue of purple that Prince would wear regularly. We are not quite sure if it was an ode to Prince but we know it’s one of the colors you need in your wardrobe this season. This regal shade of purple was seen at most of the shows and styled differently.

Neon Brights

medianet_width = “728”;
medianet_height = “90”;
medianet_crid = “185308422”;
medianet_versionId = “111299”;
(function() {
var isSSL = ‘https:’ == document.location.protocol;
var mnSrc = (isSSL ? ‘https:’ : ‘http:’) + ‘//contextual.media.net/nmedianet.js?cid=8CU3G4D0M’ + (isSSL ? ‘&https=1’ : ”);
document.write(”);
})();
We saw a ton of bright, bold highlighter- type of pinks, oranges, and greens on the runway that reminded us of those vests that construction workers wear. These bright colors were popular in the 80s and are back with an updated look and were seen in street style and almost all the stores we visited in Time Square.

Tell us, which of these are your favorite trends so far? And will you be trying any of them?
