Go BIG or Go to Montego Bay should have been the tagline for this year’s staging of the Jamaica Rum Festival.
The event was launched in 2019 as a joint event between the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) and Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) in collaboration with J. Wray and Nephew Limited’s Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum has successfully reaped the rewards and has ventured to the second city!
Jamaica Rum Festival is BIGGER for 2022
The vibes were immaculate and the timing was right after a shutdown of the entertainment industry for two (2) years. Due to the success of the previous staging where there were logical challenges with spacing and parking the organizers decided the best way forward was an entire change of scenery … literally! Since the COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed, Jamaicans have been eager for a reason to go out and return to some sort of normalcy and the Jamaica Rum Festival answered the call.
The Jamaica Rum Festival works as Jamaicans love Rum and have been known to produce the highest quality rums in the world! Add a splash of Entertainment and Food to the festivities and you have an amazing event that caters to a myriad of patrons.
Another big factor is the impact of the event on the Tourism sector which accounts for 42% of repeat Tourist business for events such as the Jamaica Rum Festival. Based on recent research, it was found that Montego Bay was the second most popular city in the world after Punta Cana after COVID recovery. This Island has attracted celebrities like Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, Normani, and Lori Havey. Karreuche Tran and many others!
This year’s line-up featured performances by Capleton, Sanchez, Romaine Virgo, Tessanne Chin, and more!
Patrons also have the opportunity to partake in gastronomical delights from various food vendors as well as indulge in rum samplings and partake in interactive seminars.
